According to the Daily NK News, North Korea has failed to provide rations to Pyongyang residents for the last three months, a situation that never occurred during even the height of the country’s famine period in the mid to late 1990s. Due to the coronavirus and the economic blockade, the death rate of starvation in North Korea is rapidly increasing this year. The number of households subsisting on a single meal per day or every two days is on the rise in the city. Many people are reportedly picking greens from the mountains to eat with rice. Our prayer is very needed for the people in North Korea to save the soul who is dying without hearing of the Gospel. We pray that the mercy of our Lord will be revealed to each person who is suffering during this time in North Korea.
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.” (Isaiah 55:1)
Lord, we lift up your gracious name on high. You are the provider of the poor, and the father of the fatherless. Your merciful power is more than enough to reach out to the people who are in desperate situations in North Korea. Lord, we pray that your loving arms are holding and embracing the people who suffer without food for their body and soul, and you will fulfill the need by your mighty hands.
Jesus Christ, our only provider, and the source of life, we proclaim your wonderful name throughout North Korea!
