At the end of October, North Korea's ruling party ordered Ministry of State officials in North Korea, China, Russia and other countries to capture, arrest, and return North Korean defectors. This is yet another push by North Korea to maintain and strengthen their control, and an attempt to put a stop to all future defections.
"In the order, North Korean authorities reportedly instructed officials to “quietly” bring back defectors in China caught trying to go to South Korea or brokers who criticize Pyongyang, regardless of concerns over COVID-19. The order instructed the officials to turn them over to Ministry of State Security counterespionage offices on the Sino-North Korean border for interrogation. The order further stated that after interrogation, they are to be sent to political prisons."

Thwart the wicked schemes of North Korea's rulers who attempt by every means possible to set themselves up as god. Watch over North Korean defectors in China, South Korea and around the world. Bring them to a saving knowledge of Yourself through the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the only means of salvation, true rescue and restoration; and as Your people, give us hearts to care for the sojourner and fatherless, we pray.
