May the Bloody Purge Be Stopped and May the Gospel Expand Instead

“It was quite intentional that Kim Jong-un did not move for about 21 days this time. In order for Kim Jong-un to tighten control over his people, a team was organized from three departments, the Organization and Guidance Department, the State Security Department, and the Ministry of People’s Security, and they went down to each province, city, and county. Soon the bloody purge will be performed on those who are shaken by the circumstances. Kim Jong-il has done the same. Around the ‘80s, he killed many people, mainly from the State Security Department. After the incident, it has been revealed that many ambiguous people were executed. Kim Jong-Un is doing the same, but more people are expected to be purged than during Kim Jong-il reign.” This is the current news of North Korea given by Pastor Paul Shim, a North Korean defector. We pray that Kim Jong-un's evil plans to strengthen the power base through fear will collapse and that there may be an advance of the preaching of the gospel instead.

“There is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flatters himself in his own eyes, When he finds out his iniquity and when he hates. The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; He has ceased to be wise and to do good. He devises wickedness on his bed; He sets himself in a way that is not good; He does not abhor evil.” (Psalm 36:1-4)

Lord, we lift up to you Kim Jong-un, who has no fear of God and carries out evil deeds of unhesitatingly getting rid of anyone, from high officials to even close friends, who are considered to bring even the slightest harm to maintaining his power. Although the sins that provoke your wrath are being practiced, the goodness and sincerity of you, Lord, rest in heaven. Now, may the word of your truth be proclaimed in North Korea, and may everyone receive the blessing of hearing the gospel.
