Food shortage in North Korea is the worst since the Arduous March in the 1990s

Updated: Jul 10, 2023

The food shortage in North Korea is the “worst” since the great famine of the 1990s. Both the price of rice, North Korea's staple food, and corn, its substitute, soared. As a result, there may be another nationwide starvation death by next year's spring hardship. However, the North Korean regime is not interested in resolving the immediate food problem, at which the lives of the people are at stake, but is only obsessed with acquiring nuclear weapons to continue the Kim family's hereditary monolithic ruling system to the fourth generation. We pray that the North Korea will be governed by the word of God's righteousness.

“For there is no other God but me, a righteous God and Savior. There is none but me.

Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other.”

(Isaiah 45: 21-22)

May God rule over Kim Jong-un and his core elite group who tyrannically rule over the poor people in North Korea. Our gracious father, we trust your provision for Your people in North Korea. You will provide the food to eat in God's gracious way so that North Korean can survive until they have a chance to hear the gospel of life of Jesus Christ.

In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. amen!
