End the Evil of Instilling Terror through Public Executions

Daily NK reported that a married couple who had been accumulating funds through large-scale enterprises were executed by firing squad in an open area near Mirim, Songshin&Songhwa district, Pyongyang, in front of more than 200 residents. They were charged under the law against reactionary ideological and cultural practices for colluding with an outside party organ (a front organization) to illegally distribute foreign currency and for spreading anti‑Republic propaganda. After the execution was carried out, residents who witnessed the shooting were struck dumb with fear, and market transactions fell sharply for several days.

“Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against your magic bands with which you hunt the souls like birds, and I will tear them from your arms, and I will let the souls whom you hunt go free, the souls like birds.

Your veils also I will tear off and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand as prey, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”

We lift up North Korea before the Lord with these words from Ezekiel. Almighty God, stop the scheme of the North Korean authorities to deepen control through a reign of terror that fills people with fear. Put an end to the sin of killing innocent citizens and forcing even small children to watch public executions.
