On May 9, marking the 80th anniversary of Russia’s Victory Day, Kim Jong Un visited the Russian embassy in Pyongyang, delivering a speech celebrating the occasion and affirming that the DPRK and Russia would “ceaselessly develop their invincible alliance.” On the same day, President Putin met with a North Korean military delegation at the Red Square parade in Moscow to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. Meanwhile, on May 7, the United Nations Security Council convened to assess the deepening military cooperation between North Korea and Russia, as well as Pyongyang’s ongoing violations of UN resolutions and sanctions.
“Cush, and Put, and Lud, and all Arabia, and Libya, and the people of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword. Thus says the Lord: Those who support Egypt shall fall, and her proud might shall come down; from Migdol to Syene they shall fall within her by the sword, declares the Lord God.” (ESV)
Ezekiel 30:5–6
We pray, with the words from Ezekiel. May North Korea, which clings to the mighty power of Russia, break away from such alliances and return to God. Lord, who declares to nations that band together against You, “Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing”, we plead that North Korea will sever every wicked alliance and turn to You for salvation from destruction.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
