[Prayer] Please give us the full restoration of freedom where North and South Korea worship together

On August 15, 1945, Korea was liberated. Although the Korean Peninsula was freed from Japanese colonial rule, it was not recognized as an independent nation. Based on the 38th parallel north, the Soviet army occupied the northern part, while the U.S. army occupied the southern part. At that time, there was an expectation that the 38th parallel would soon disappear, but after South Korea held its own general election, the Republic of Korea was established on August 15, 1948. North Korea also established the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on September 9. The two Koreas declared the establishment of their respective governments only 25 days apart, and after the Korean War in 1950, the division that began after liberation has remained firm for 80 years until today.

“Assemble, all of you, and listen! Who among them has declared these things? The LORD loves him; he shall perform his purpose on Babylon, and his arm shall be against the Chaldeans. Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.’”

O God, the First and the Last, we thank You for setting this nation free from darkness. As we celebrate the 80th Liberation Day, have mercy on this people who have still not achieved complete freedom and liberation. Please unite North and South according to Your will. Let the evil regime in the North fall, rebuild Your churches there, and reveal Your glory. Let North and South worship You together in true freedom and take the gospel to the nations.
