On May 21, North Korea held a launching ceremony for a 5,000-ton destroyer, with Kim Jong-un in attendance. But during the launch, the ship tipped over, and part of the hull fell into the sea and was damaged. Humiliated, Kim called it a "serious and grave accident" and "a criminal act." He ordered punishment for those responsible and demanded that the ship be restored before next month's full meeting of the Labour Party Central Committee. Because of this accident, North Korea lost a major military asset. We pray that North Korea will turn away from its foolish focus on military strength and instead walk in faith, seeking God's help and grace.
“Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.”
Psalm 127:1–2
Lord, please rebuke North Korea for continuing to build new weapons even while its people starve. Let them realize how meaningless it is to build their military-first system without You. Help them know that You are the one who truly protects and fights for them. As we seek Your help and grace, lead them to build a house of faith that brings You joy.
We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
