[Prayer] Lead North Korean Defectors Who Cannot Find a City to Dwell In

With recent signs of improving relations between North Korea and China, fears of “repatriation” are rising again among North Korean defectors in China. When Chinese authorities capture and return individuals crossing the border, the North Korean regime uses them as an example to tighten internal control, aiming to reduce defection attempts altogether. The human rights violations that occur during the repatriation process are severe. It is reported that brutal acts such as forced labor, public and private executions, forced abortions, infanticide, and physical abuse take place in the State Security Department facilities, re-education camps, and political prison camps along the North Korean border.
"Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to a city to dwell in; hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man."
Psalm 107:4–8
O God, who leads those who cannot find a city to dwell in to a place where they can settle, we lift up the North Korean defectors in China who are living under the fear of forced repatriation. Please guide them to a safe refuge where they can settle down securely. May the forced repatriations and cruel acts by China and North Korea come to an end, and may the Gospel be preached to them so that they may obtain the peace and salvation found in Jesus.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
