North Korea uses cryptocurrency hacking as a means to fund its military programs, including ballistic missile development. In 2024, the total amount of losses due to hacking in the cryptocurrency industry reached approximately $2.2 billion (around 3.134 trillion KRW). Of this, Lazarus, a North Korean hacking group, stole about $1.4 billion (approximately 1.994 trillion KRW), accounting for 61% of the total. Since 2018, Lazarus has stolen and laundered more than $200 million (about 290 billion KRW) in cryptocurrency annually, accumulating illicit funds.

... for we brought nothing into the world, and[c] we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.”

God, who gave us this Word, we lift up North Korea, which threatens peace by creating weapons through cyber hacking driven by fleshly desires. We remember Your Word that those who deceive, steal, are greedy, and do wrong will not inherit the kingdom of God. Please pour out Your grace so that North Korea may turn from its evil ways and become a nation that fears and obeys You.
