North Korea has appointed its next ambassador to Austria, and there are rumors that he will be dispatched soon. Austria, as a permanently neutral country, does not participate in war under international law, performs only its own defense, and maintains diplomatic relations with both Eastern and Western blocs. For this reason, Vienna has, since the Cold War era, effectively tolerated espionage activities and has served as both the starting point and transit hub for money laundering and smuggling routes.
“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.”
Daniel 2:21–22
God, who governs all political orders and the rise and fall of kings, let us spiritually discern the hidden intentions and strategies behind North Korea’s diplomatic move of appointing an ambassador to Austria, and let us pray for this. Also, grant grace so that neutral Austria may be used for the gospel to be delivered to the people of North Korea and for God’s work to be accomplished there.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
