On the final day of the high‑level week at the 80th UN General Assembly, North Korea declared, “We will never give up our nuclear weapons. To ask us to denuclearize is equivalent to asking us to give up our sovereignty, our right to survive, and to violate our constitution.” Kim Son‑kyong, North Korea’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, also said, “Just a few days ago, the United States and its allied forces effectively assumed the possibility of a nuclear attack on our country and carried out nuclear war drills, greatly escalating tensions on the Korean Peninsula.” He insisted that North Korea will not relinquish its nuclear weapons.
“Whoever slanders his neighbor secretly I will destroy. Whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart I will not endure.
I will look with favor on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks in the way that is blameless shall minister to me.”
Psalm 101:5–6
We lift up the Kim Jong‑un regime to You, Lord — a regime that justifies strengthening nuclear forces and uses those weapons as bargaining chips to threaten South Korea, the United States, and the world. O God, by Your strong arm, break the nuclear power on which North Korea depends; render their advanced arms and nuclear capabilities ineffective; and lead them to bow before You, the Sovereign Lord.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
