[Prayer] May the 300,000 Believers in North Korea Be Restored

Before liberation in 1945, the North Korean church had between 250,000 and 300,000 believers. To eradicate Christianity, the North Korean communist regime immediately arrested anyone caught worshiping or evangelizing, frequently raided the homes of Christians, and arrested and detained people upon discovering Bibles or hymnals, which were deemed subversive literature. As a result, many of those believers shed their blood as martyrs, were exiled to remote mountainous regions, or fled as refugees. Propaganda claiming the existence of 500 house church members was used merely to assert that religious freedom existed in North Korea.
"And now the LORD says, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him; and that Israel might be gathered to him—for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD, and my God has become my strength,"
Isaiah 49:5
We praise God, who allowed there to be as many as 300,000 believers in North Korea before liberation. God, who even now preserves and spares those believers who have not bowed their knees to Baal, grant that the believers who are scattered through persecution and hidden underground may come out into the open and enjoy the blessing of worshiping God freely above ground.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
