Screenshots of China's facial recognition monitoring

"The Chinese Public Security officers came out to diaozha (investigate), they said, without explaining why. They drew blood and cut hair. They made me shout 'Yi, er, san' (one, two, three) to register my voice, and they took me to the armed police unit to register my iris information." A report states that the Chinese authorities are collecting biometric information such as iris scans, blood, voice, and weight of North Korean defectors in China. Furthermore, it appears they are using an app to monitor the defectors' movements in real-time. North Korean human rights organizations have raised suspicions that China is sharing related information with the North Korean regime.

Do not rob the poor, because he is poor, or crush the afflicted at the gate, for the Lord will plead their cause and rob of life those who rob them.

God, You defend the oppressed and take the life of those who oppress them. Please stop the wicked surveillance activities of the Chinese authorities who are collecting biometric data and monitoring the movements of North Korean defectors hidden in China, putting their safety at risk. Please let Your Word be delivered to the defectors who live in fear of being repatriated to North Korea at any moment. May the Gospel be planted in their hearts, enabling them to live with hope for God's kingdom and salvation.

In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
