The influx of North Korean workers into China, which had slowed due to sanctions against North Korea and the aftermath of COVID-19, appears to be resuming in earnest. Around 7:00 AM on the 12th, approximately 200 North Korean workers crossed from Sinuiju into Dandong by bus and were dispatched to clothing, food, and seafood processing factories in Liaoning Province. It is estimated that over the next five days, approximately 100 to 200 North Korean workers entered Dandong each day, with a total of 1,000 workers entering China. Reports indicate that they entered the country disguised as short-term visitors or industrial trainees rather than holding official work visas, as a means of evading sanctions.

"What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth."

1 Corinthians 3:5–7

We pray that the gospel will be shared with the North Korean workers sent abroad. May the door of the Gospel be opened for those who are under strict surveillance and unable to freely contact the outside world or travel. May opportunities for contact with workers who share the Gospel be provided, so that they may hear God’s Word, their faith may grow, and they may turn to the Lord and be saved.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen!
