"The harvest season is in full swing, but the junior party secretary and management committee chairmen of the farm have joined forces with the warehouse manager to confiscate more than 10 tons of the harvest, while the work team leaders have taken at least 5 tons each." DailyNK reported that the long-standing problem of farm officials embezzling the grain has intensified. Despite working tirelessly all day in the fields, the farm workers, who are denied a fair share of the harvest, cannot even secure enough food for themselves. They are left disillusioned, lamenting that "no matter how hard we work, only the officials live well in this rotten society."
"O Lord, your hand is lifted up, but they do not see it. Let them see your zeal for your people, and be ashamed. O Lord our God, other lords besides you have ruled over us, but your name alone we bring to remembrance."
Isaiah 26:11, 13
We lift up the oppressed people of North Korea, who, even in the harvest season, are stripped of their grain and still cannot escape hunger. Show their oppressors how fervently You love them, and let those oppressors be put to shame. Though North Korean officials and leaders rule over and oppress them, may those who know Your fame exalt Your name.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
