[Prayer] Prices and Exchange Rates in North Korea Have more than Doubled

“As the closure of North Korea's borders continues, trade and the import of smuggled goods have been banned, causing the prices of food and basic necessities to skyrocket. In Ryanggang Province, the price of 1kg of rice rose from 14,000 won late last year to 20,000 won, with some grades reaching 30,000 or even 50,000 won. Overall prices and exchange rates have more than doubled compared to last year, leading to severe shortages. Consequently, North Korea is reportedly mobilizing students from middle school upward for a "gold mining battle" in abandoned mines in Hamgyong and Ryanggang Provinces. It is heartbreaking news that these developments are causing the nutritional status of residents suffering from economic hardship to deteriorate rapidly.” This is a report sent by a field worker.

"if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday"

Isaiah 58:10

Have mercy on the North Korean people, who are groaning under soaring prices caused by shortages of food and daily necessities due to border closures during this desperate time of the spring famine. May the borders of North Korea be opened before this spring passes, allowing residents to travel freely and engage in open economic activities. ove all, may God’s Word be sent to the believers in North Korea’s underground churches, may they be abundantly supplied spiritually so that their souls may be revived, and may they enjoy the blessing of worshiping and praying to God freely.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen!
