Last year, approximately 10,000 Russians visited North Korea, marking the highest number on record. While statistics on North Koreans entering Russia have not been made public, experts suggest that Russia may have accepted a large-scale influx of North Korean laborers. Analysis indicates that they are bypassing sanctions by entering for "academic purposes" and then being deployed to work sites. A Russian real estate industry insider told NK News that as of late last year, there could have been as many as 50,000 North Korean laborers working at Russian construction sites. We pray that the close ties between North Korea and Russia will be broken and that doors will open to share the gospel with North Korean workers dispatched to Russia.
"I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel... And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear... What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice,"
Philippians 1:12, 14, 18
God, please stop the evil deeds of North Korea, which uses the lives and labor of its own people as a stepping stone for political and military gain. We look to Your hand to turn North Korea’s evil into good. We trust in the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness to accomplish salvation beyond human expectation. Please open doors for the gospel to reach North Korean soldiers and workers sent abroad, and lead them to the path of life and salvation.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen!
