"My friend used to live in an old apartment in Botonggang District, Pyongyang. It was torn down for rebuilding, and since then, they’ve been living with their sibling in another area. Though the building frame is done, the interior construction hasn’t progressed, and it’s already their fourth year living together. According to Radio Free Asia, many apartment buildings being built across Pyongyang as part of the 50,000-housing plan have been stuck for years because of material shortages."
We pray that the oppression in North Korea would come to an end, and the people there would be free to worship God.
“Hear this, you heads of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who detest justice and make crooked all that is straight, who build Zion with blood and Jerusalem with iniquity.”
Micah 3:9–10
Lord who gave us this word, please rebuke the North Korean leaders who are chasing after flashy policies while ignoring the real needs of their people. Hear the cries and groans of the oppressed who live under a system that values itself more than its people. Please set them physically and spiritually free. Help them enjoy the basic human rights they deserve as people made in Your image—and most of all, show them mercy so that they may know and worship You as Your blessed people.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
