78% of female prisoners in the Yodok Political Camp have a mental disorder

According to recent data from a source inside the Daily NK, the number of female patients with No. 49 (mental diseases) in the North Korean camps administered by the National Security Agency is more than twice that of men.

In particular, in the Yodeok Political Prison Camp case, approximately 78% of female prisoners informed suffering mental illness symptoms.

Regarding this, the source stated, "there were many sufferers in Yodeok, but this year the figure has doubled compared to last year. The situation will worsen because the facilities are too old, prisoners can't rest properly, and various assault forms continue.

It also pointed out that one cause of the problem is allocating harsh workloads to female prisoners according to the camp manual that treats political prisoners like animals rather than humans.

Lord, we pray that the camp prisoners become to know God and hope for Heaven.

As in Psalm 9:7 - 9, "The Lord reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment. He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble", God who judges with justice and righteousness, please inspect the North Korean evil behavior in treating political prisoners as animals rather than humans.

Holy Spirit, we are asking you to visit each prisoner who are isolated in closed camps and suffer from forced labor, torture, assault, and hunger. Lord! You are the fortress and shelter of them. Some women prisoner even could not endure physical and mental abuse and thus reach the point of being out of their minds. May the Lord, who hears, sees, and knows their pain, lead them to the knowledge of God and grow into children who desire the kingdom of God.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
