"In 2017, 12 villagers were detained and investigated by the Ministry of Security in North Hamgyong Province for missionary activities. Two were imprisoned in a political prison camp and 10 others were sentenced to labor indoctrination and labor discipline. In 2019, a secret underground church in Pyongyang was busted and five people were publicly executed, seven were sent to a management center, 30 were sentenced to labor indoctrination, and more than 50 people, including family members, were deported. In addition, three people who were forcibly repatriated and detained in the Bowie Detention Center were found to have attended church in China and disappeared after investigation." These are some of the testimonies of Christian persecution in North Korea from the 2023 North Korea Human Rights Report. We pray that the persecuted believers in North Korea will stand firm on the rock of faith, and that all churches in North Korea will enjoy the fullness of God's blessings as they worship Him.
"We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

Father God, We denounce before You the cruelty of North Korea, which for more than 70 years has sabotaged God's kingdom and persecuted Your church and believers, but we praise God that even in the midst of terrible persecution, the life of Jesus is still working wonders to spread the gospel and bring about new believers. Fill the saints in North Korea who are suffering with heavenly blessings and overflowing consolation, so that they may stand more firmly on the rock of faith. We also ask that You may be further witnessed to all nations through the persecution of Christians in North Korea and the history of the gospel as documented in the North Korean Human Rights Report and that You may grant all North Korean churches the blessing of worshipping You freely.
