In the spring of 2022, Defector Kim felt the situation was getting more serious: He said he would wake up one day to hear, 'Someone in that alley starved to death,' and the next day he would hear a similar story. Kim also said that North Korea sent quarantine violators to labor prisons and increased authorities' crackdown on punishment for South Korean cultural content, forcing him to watch a 22-year-old man he knew being publicly shot in April last year.
This is what Kim, who defected to the West Sea of South Korea on a fishing boat with his family in May this year, told the BBC.
"But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine.

We pray for North Korea, a country filled with death and suffering.
We ask your mercy for North Korea as people die of starvation and are publicly executed just because they have been exposed to Korean culture.
Above all, set North Korea free with the gospel, so that all North Koreans may know salvation and life in Jesus Christ.
