More than 2 million people died in the Korean War that broke out in 1950. This pain and these wounds still exist today, even after 75 years. Those who lost parents, children, or siblings in the war live with deep-seated resentment and hatred in their hearts. Without laying down this pain within God’s love and practicing mutual forgiveness and reconciliation, the complete recovery of North Korea remains difficult. Let us pray that we may first become one through forgiveness and that the bonds may be loosened.
"Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ, so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs."
2 Corinthians 2:10-11
Lord, who became the sacrifice of atonement to save us sinners, let Your love call us to a place of reconciliation, a place where we bring forth the murders and wounds committed during the Korean War to forgive and be forgiven. Before achieving physical unification, we declare that this land will be filled with the work of Heaven, where hearts become one in faith through forgiveness and reconciliation, releasing the bonds of this land and setting us free.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen!
